8 Bogies of Goods Train Derail on Delhi Rohtak Railway Line

Guwahati: Eight bogies of a freight train derailed on the Haryana-Delhi railway line at Kharawar Railway Station on Sunday.

Following the event, the rail route was shut down which hampered communication. In order to restore the rail movement, railway engineers and other officials and personnel arrived at the scene, according to police officials.

Assistant Sub-Inspector of Rohtak police, Manoj Kumar told PTI, that the goods train was travelling from Delhi’s Shakur Basti to Suratgarh through Rohtak. It was stuffed full of coal. In the incident, seven waggons derailed, which had an impact on the route’s rail traffic.

There have been no injuries associated with the incident as date.

The cause of the tragedy will be looked into by railroad authorities.

The incident also caused damage to some of the train track.
