8th Assamese scales Mount Everest
Guwahati: Hedayet Ali, a man hailing from Hajo town of Guwahati who is now a resident of California has scaled Mount Everest on Thursday morning.
Ali became the eighth Assamese mountaineer to summit Mount Everest at around 7.30 a.m.
Ali began his journey from Lukla to the Everest Base Camp. Ali is a California-based software engineer.
In addition, he ascended Mount Elbrus, Europe’s highest peak, Mount Acconogua in 2019 and Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, in 2018.
Hedayet Ali’s journey is honoured by the Explorers Club of Guwahati.
This is the season’s first Mount Everest expedition. Ali climbed the peak with 11 other mountaineers as part of an international team.
