Guwahati: In a suspected case of food poisoning, around 97 children fell sick after having pani puri at a fair in Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh, a health official said on Sunday.
According to reports, the children ate spicy snacks from the same business at a fair held in the tribal-dominated Singarpur area on Saturday evening.
Reportedly, the district hospital’s civil surgeon, Dr K R Shakya said that the children complained of vomiting and stomach ache at 7.30 pm.

According to a police officer, the ‘pani puri’ vendor was detained and samples of the snack were sent for testing.
Union minister Faggan Singh Kulaste, the parliamentarian from Mandla met with the children receiving treatment at the hospital on Saturday.
