Assam: Jesmina Parvin Elected as Gaon Panchayat Member in Geramari

Guwahati: In a significant development from the recently concluded Gaon Panchayat elections, Jesmina Parvin has secured a resounding victory in Ward No. 9 of 83/9 Geramari, Part-V. Representing the 83 Alomganj constituency, Parvin garnered substantial support from the local electorate.

Out of the total 723 votes cast in the ward, Jesmina Parvin emerged as the clear frontrunner, securing an impressive 244 votes. This decisive win paves the way for her to represent the residents of Ward No. 9 in the local governing body, where she is expected to voice their concerns and contribute to the development of the region.

Meanwhile, in a closely watched contest within the 20/6-Salmara 6th Block constituency, Shahanaz Khatun has emerged victorious in the Gaon Panchayat member election under the 20-Bahir Salmara Gaon Panchayat. The election witnessed a keen competition among five candidates vying for the representative position.

According to the final tally of votes, Shahanaz Khatun secured a notable 281 votes, establishing a clear lead over her contenders. Her closest rival, Momtaz Begum, received 202 votes, while Amina Khatun finished third in the count with 124 votes. Khatun’s victory signifies the trust and confidence placed in her by the constituents of the Salmara 6th Block.
