Assam: BJP Secures Decisive Victories in Morigaon District and Regional Panchayat Elections

Guwahati: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged victorious in the Morigaon District and Regional Panchayat elections, winning numerous seats across the district. The party’s candidates have demonstrated their strength, securing key positions in the District Council and Regional Panchayat elections.

In the District Council elections, BJP candidates have triumphed in four seats. The winning candidates include:

– Binita Baishnav Deka: Secured a win in the Bhurbandha District Council seat

– Suren Das: Emerged victorious in the Dandua District Council seat

– Prashant Hazarika: Won uncontested in the Kushtali Nij Gerua District Council seat

– Archana Patar: Claimed victory in the Charaiwahi Chabukhora District Council seat with a substantial vote margin

The BJP has also made notable gains in the Regional Panchayat elections, sweeping a large number of village panchayat seats in the Kapili and Bhurbandha regions. Some of the winning candidates include ¹:

– Kapili Regional Panchayat:

    – Gopeshwar Bordoloi: Won uncontested in Chabukhora Village Panchayat

    – Chittaranjan Amchi: Won uncontested in Charaiwahi Village Panchayat

    – Anurag Das: Secured a significant victory in Borchila Village Panchayat

    – Lipika Bordoloi: Won in Gopalghat Village Panchayat

– Bhurbandha Regional Panchayat:

    – Geeta Bordoloi: Won in Dighalbori Village Panchayat

    – Priyanka Mondal: Secured a victory in Banmuri Boralimari Village Panchayat

    – Abhijit Kumar Bharali: Won in Laubhurunga Village Panchayat

While the BJP has emerged as the dominant party, Congress and Independent candidates have also secured victories in some seats. Notably:

– Shabina Yachmin: Secured a victory for Congress in Mikirgaon Village Panchayat

– Anjana Deka Kakoti: Emerged victorious as an Independent candidate in Borongabari Village Panchayat
