Raijor Dal Achieves Significant Panchayat Election Gains Across Assam

Guwahati: Raijor Dal, under the leadership of Akhil Gogoi, has made a notable impact in the recent Assam Panchayat elections, securing wins in various districts and enhancing its grassroots presence. The party’s performance is being highlighted as a significant advancement in its political trajectory.

In Goalpara district, Rezabul Haque of Raijor Dal emerged victorious in the Raukhowa-Kalsabhaga Regional Panchayat, a win celebrated by supporters as a testament to the party’s growing public trust.

Purnananda Chetia added to the party’s success in Upper Assam by winning the regional member seat in Dimou Panchayat. Party leaders expressed confidence in his ability to serve the local community.

A particularly striking victory was witnessed in the Chenga constituency, where Nurjahan Khatun won the regional member seat from the 97th Bormara Village Panchayat with a substantial margin of 3,542 votes, showcasing Raijor Dal’s increasing popularity among rural and minority demographics.

Raijor Dal also made significant inroads in central Assam. In the Dhing Assembly Constituency, Jyotsna Begum secured a win in Hatimuria Panchayat, and Asiba Fakir triumphed in Jaramari Langia Panchayat, strengthening the party’s presence in Nagaon district.

Sivasagar district proved to be a major stronghold for Raijor Dal, with the party winning 21 wards across multiple village panchayats within the Sivasagar Assembly Constituency. This includes three wards each in Konwarpur and Disang Dhai Ali panchayats, two in Cherekapar, and individual ward wins in Barua Pukhuri and Morabazar.

Further consolidating their position, Raijor Dal won two wards each in Khanamukh and Hahchara panchayats. The party’s most prominent win came from Banmukh panchayat, where they secured four wards, and in Deoraja panchayat, they won three wards, indicating a substantial increase in their rural support in Upper Assam.

Overall, Raijor Dal has secured nine Anchalik Panchayat (AP) member seats and a considerable number of Gaon Panchayat (GP) member seats across the state, including the 21 seats won in Sivasagar. These results have energized the party’s base and solidified its standing as a formidable regional political entity.

Akhil Gogoi, the party president, commented on the results, stating, “The people of Assam have shown that they want a new kind of politics. This result proves that the public believes in Raijor Dal’s fight for truth, transparency, and justice. We are thankful to every voter who supported us.”

The Panchayat election results continue to unfold, with Raijor Dal’s performance drawing significant attention for its ability to mobilize grassroots support and challenge the existing political dynamics in rural Assam.
