CBSE Announces Class 12 Results for 2025; Girls Outshine Boys
National: The Central Board of Secondary Education today declared the results for the Class 12 examinations conducted this year. The overall pass percentage stands at an impressive 88.39%, marking a slight improvement compared to the previous academic year. The official announcement was made by Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, the CBSE Examination Controller, bringing relief and excitement to lakhs of students across the nation.
Continuing a notable trend, female students have once again demonstrated superior academic performance, surpassing their male counterparts by more than 5 percentage points in the Class 12 results. This consistent outperformance underscores the dedication and hard work exhibited by girl students in the CBSE system.
In related news, the results for the Class 10 examinations are anticipated to be released later today, keeping the anticipation high for the remaining students who appeared for the board exams. This year, over 42 lakh students appeared for both the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations, which were conducted between February 15 and April 4, 2025.
To facilitate easy access to results, CBSE has provided multiple official online platforms where students can view their individual scorecards. These include the official websites cbse.gov.in, cbseresults.nic.in, and results.cbse.nic.in. The board has cautioned students to rely solely on these official sources for accurate information and to avoid any misleading content circulating online.
Furthermore, CBSE will be providing DigiLocker credentials to students via SMS on their registered mobile numbers. These credentials will enable students to securely log in to the DigiLocker platform and download their digitally verified marksheets and certificates, ensuring easy and secure access to their important academic documents.
A significant change implemented this academic year is the introduction of a Relative Grading system. This new approach replaces the traditional fixed grading scale and will evaluate students’ performance in relation to their peers. This shift aims to foster a less stressful academic environment and reduce excessive competition among students. Additionally, the board has a provision for grace marks, which may be awarded to students who fall marginally short of the 33% passing criteria in specific subjects.
