Guwahati: In a remarkable display of swift action, the Garchuk Police Station in Guwahati has successfully cracked a murder case within a mere three hours of its reporting.
The incident, which occurred in the basement of the bustling Silver Arcade Marketing Complex in Garchuk, has brought to light a suspected love triangle that tragically culminated in the violent death of a young man.
The authorities were alerted to a grave assault at the aforementioned commercial establishment at approximately 4:00 PM. Responding with immediate urgency, a dedicated team spearheaded by the Officer-in-Charge of Garchuk Police Station swiftly arrived at the scene of the crime.
The victim has been identified as Mriganka Barman, a 26-year-old resident hailing from Japarkuchi, Ward No. 06, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Nalbari Police Station. Despite being rushed to Excel Care Hospital for urgent medical attention, Barman tragically succumbed to the grievous injuries he sustained in the attack.
Preliminary investigations conducted by the police have revealed that the deceased, Barman, had been residing at Hotel High City Inn in the days leading up to the incident, accompanied by a woman. Leveraging crucial evidence obtained from CCTV footage and sophisticated technical surveillance, the police were able to swiftly identify the alleged perpetrator as Jan Mohammad Ali, also known as Raju Ali. The 31-year-old suspect is a resident of Dampur, which falls under the purview of the Hajo Police Station. Notably, Ali was apprehended by the authorities within a matter of hours following the crime.
The primary motive under scrutiny by the investigating officers points towards a complex love triangle involving the deceased, the accused, and the woman who was with Barman at the hotel. It is alleged that the accused inflicted fatal injuries upon Barman by stabbing him with a knife and further assaulting him with a lathi. Significantly, both the knife and the lathi believed to have been used in the commission of the crime have been successfully recovered and seized by the police as crucial pieces of evidence.
