Meghalaya Football Association Extends Inter-District Transfer Deadline
Shillong: In a move aimed at facilitating smoother player movement, the Meghalaya Football Association (MFA) today announced a one-week extension to the deadline for inter-district transfers for the year 2025.
Originally set to conclude on May 17, the final date for submitting completed transfer forms and signing the official MFA register has now been pushed to May 24. This decision comes as a welcome development for both players and football clubs across the state.
The MFA reiterated the mandatory submission process, emphasizing that the pink copy of the transfer form must be submitted to the MFA office. District associations are required to retain the white copy, while the yellow copy is for the respective clubs’ records. Notably, forms lacking a photograph of the player will face immediate rejection.
Furthermore, the association stressed the importance of in-person registration at the MFA office to finalize the transfer. Players must be present to sign the official register, and a transfer fee of ₹1,000 is to be paid at the time of signing. This process can be completed between 3 PM and 5 PM daily until the new deadline of May 24, with the exception of Sunday. Once the register is signed, the transfer will be considered final. Following the conclusion of the extended transfer window, the MFA will disseminate a comprehensive list of all finalized player transfers to its affiliated district associations.
