Tripura Reclaims Dormant Industrial Land for Economic Revival
Agartala: In a decisive stride towards reigniting its industrial engine and optimizing the utilization of valuable state assets, the Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDC) has successfully repossessed the land, sheds, and fixed assets of a dozen long-defunct industrial units. This strategic acquisition, carried out under the robust framework of the Tripura Public Premises Act, targets properties within the Bodhjangnagar and RK Nagar Industrial Complexes that have remained idle for an extended period.
The move follows a protracted period of non-compliance from the unit owners, who consistently failed to settle outstanding rent arrears totaling ₹63,90,248 and remained unresponsive to multiple official communications. These units had been shuttered and abandoned for a considerable time, leaving crucial industrial infrastructure fallow and unproductive. TIDC, in an official press release, stated that the persistent silence from the owners left the corporation with no alternative but to reclaim the properties, paving the way for fresh industrial investment. The reclaimed assets encompass a significant 11.00 acres of land and five valuable industrial sheds.
The acquired properties previously belonged to a diverse group of enterprises, including Khumpui Global Services (0.40 acre), BR Rubtech Industries (1.00 acre), ATW Millennium Concept (one shed), Agartala Electrical LLP (0.50 acre and one shed), Simanta Handicraft Products Pvt Ltd (2.00 acres), ARI Pavers Pvt Ltd (0.50 acre), North East Solar Energy Systems LLP (one shed), Prime & Pure Food Industries (two sheds), Pro Rub Craft Pvt Ltd (2.00 acres and 1.06 acres – Mounded Rubber Goods Division), Inoculation Accessories NE Pvt Ltd (1.00 acre), and Joy Chandimata Cold Storage & Agencies Pvt Ltd (2.00 acres).
TIDC has confirmed that these newly acquired assets will be systematically reallocated to new industrial ventures, adhering strictly to established rules and regulations. This proactive measure is envisioned as a catalyst for attracting fresh investment, fostering robust industrial expansion, and generating much-needed employment opportunities across the state. Officials within the Corporation underscored that this bold decision unequivocally demonstrates TIDC’s unwavering commitment to dynamic land management and its dedicated focus on stimulating economic vitality throughout Tripura.
