BJP Assam Embarks on Ambitious Statewide Organisational Blitz

Guwahati, Assam: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Assam has commenced a sweeping statewide campaign, meticulously crafted to fortify its organisational bedrock from the very booth level upwards. This intensive drive, squarely focused on supercharging grassroots operations, sees the party’s seasoned leadership fanning out across all corners of the state, engaging directly with local units.

This formidable initiative, spearheaded by BJP Assam Pradesh President and Member of Parliament Dilip Saikia, is strategically designed to gird the party for forthcoming electoral battles and to robustly underpin the developmental agenda championed by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The launch of this campaign rides on the coattails of recent electoral triumphs in the Gaon Panchayat and Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council polls, which the party views as a significant tailwind for further consolidation.

According to figures released by the party, the BJP currently commands a presence in over 26,000 of Assam’s approximate 29,000 election booths. The ongoing campaign aims to not only cement this extensive network but also to inject renewed vigour into all 39 of its organisational districts and their sub-units, including mandals, shakti kendras, and individual booths.

From May 30 to June 15, the BJP is slated to convene district executive meetings across the length and breadth of the state. A contingent of twenty-one senior leaders, encompassing Members of Parliament, general secretaries, and secretaries, will embark on tours to specific districts to oversee, strategise, and galvanise local party teams.

President Dilip Saikia himself is set to undertake visits to Sivasagar, Charaideo, Darrang, North Kamrup, Udalguri, Dima Hasao, and Tamulpur, providing direct oversight. Vice President Tapan Kumar Gogoi will be responsible for operations in Majuli and Jorhat, while General Secretary Pallab Lochan Das will steer efforts in Sonitpur and Biswanath. Other prominent leaders will be stationed in various key districts, including Morigaon, Nagaon, Goalpara, and Barpeta.

National Secretary and MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa will lend his supervision to activities in Golaghat, Kaliabor, and Hojai. Concurrently, State In-Charge Harish Dwivedi will oversee Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, and Tinsukia. State General Secretary (Organisation) GR Ravindra Raju will play a pivotal coordinating role for meetings in Nalbari, Baksa, Kokrajhar, Chirang, and West Karbi Anglong.

With a massive force of over 65 lakh active workers mobilised for this colossal undertaking, the BJP is clearly positioning itself for deeper public engagement and enhanced organisational efficiency, well in advance of the electoral contests that lie ahead.
