BCCI Announces Venue Swap and Revised Schedule for India’s 2025 International Home Season
New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced key changes to the venues and schedule of India’s upcoming international home season and the South Africa A team tour of India.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the BCCI confirmed a venue swap for the Test series involving the West Indies and South Africa, citing logistical adjustments. Team India (Senior Men) is set to face both touring sides across formats — Tests, ODIs, and T20Is — later this year.
The two-match Test series against the West Indies will begin on October 2, 2025, in Ahmedabad. The second Test, originally scheduled to be played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, will now take place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
In a corresponding switch, the first Test of the South Africa series, which begins on November 14, 2025, will now be hosted in Kolkata instead of the earlier designated venue in New Delhi.
The BCCI also confirmed a venue change for the India Women vs Australia Women ODI series due to ongoing pitch and outfield renovations at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The first two ODIs will be played at the New PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh, and the final ODI will take place in New Delhi.
Additionally, the South Africa Men’s A team will take on India A in two multi-day matches and three one-day games beginning October 30, 2025. While the multi-day matches will remain at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, the three one-dayers have been shifted from M. Chinnaswamy Stadium to the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.
The BCCI said the revisions aim to optimize readiness of venues while ensuring a seamless cricketing experience for players and fans alike.
