Six Arrested in Connection with Missing Person Case in Manipur

Imphal: The Manipur Police have arrested six individuals in connection with the disappearance of Chesam Abdul Kadir from Paobitek Mayai Leikai, who was found at a residence in the Mayai Lambi College Gate area of Imphal West District.

The arrests were made on June 16, following an investigation into Kadir’s disappearance during the night of June 10-11.

The homeowner, Heikrujam Prafulo Singh, was taken into custody and remanded until June 23. Additionally, five others were arrested, including three members of the Arambai Tenggol organisation: Longjam Henson, Thounaojam Ashok Singh, and Huidrom Shyamsunder Singh. Two civilians, Heikrujam Premchand and Sapam Dayani Devi, were also arrested. All six suspects have been granted police custody remands until June 23.

The investigation has led to the seizure of five vehicles: three Gypsies, one DI pickup truck, and one Activa scooter. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Kadir’s disappearance and subsequent discovery. The arrests bring the total number of detained individuals to nine, comprising six Arambai Tenggol members and three civilians.
