Assam Police Officer Found Dead at Bongaigaon Station

A pall of gloom descended upon Mererchar Police Station in Bongaigaon district early Wednesday as a police personnel was discovered dead within the station premises. The deceased, identified as Budheshwar Roy, was an active-duty officer stationed at Mererchar. His body was found by local residents, reportedly hanging inside the police station compound, sending shockwaves through the community and the police force alike.

While details surrounding the tragic incident are still emerging, initial indications point towards an apparent suicide, believed to have occurred in the early hours of the morning.
