Kokrajhar, June 20: A devastating road accident on the Samoka River bridge near Alangi Bazar in Kokrajhar’s Bishmuri area this morning claimed one life and left another critically injured. The incident, involving a high-speed motorcycle, has sent shockwaves through the local community.
Eyewitnesses recounted a harrowing scene, stating that the motorcycle, travelling at considerable speed, lost control while traversing the bridge and plummeted into the Samoka river below. The sheer force of the impact was such that one individual succumbed to their injuries on the spot, while the other sustained severe wounds.
Upon receiving the alert, Kokrajhar police promptly arrived at the scene. They meticulously recovered the body of the deceased and swiftly arranged for the injured person to be transported to Kokrajhar Medical College and Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Hospital sources later confirmed that the injured victim is currently under close medical observation, having suffered a broken leg in the crash. The identities of both individuals involved in this unfortunate incident are yet to be officially confirmed, as police continue their ongoing investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
