Arunachal Pradesh Bolsters Grassroots Governance with New Training Programme
Itanagar – Arunachal Pradesh is taking significant strides towards strengthening its grassroots governance with the inauguration of a pivotal five-day State-Level Training of Trainers-cum-Induction Programme. Spearheaded by Shri Ojing Tasing, the Minister for Panchayati Raj and Rural Development, the initiative aims to fortify the newly recruited cadre of the State Panchayat Resource Centre (SPRC) and District Panchayat Resource Centres (DPRCs).
The State Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (SIRD&PR) is meticulously organising this comprehensive training, designed to arm the new recruits with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to effectively support Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) across the vast and varied landscapes of Arunachal Pradesh. This foundational programme is seen as a cornerstone in the state’s ongoing commitment to robust decentralised governance.
During the inaugural ceremony, Minister Tasing emphasised the critical role this capacity-building exercise plays in ensuring effective local self-governance. He underscored that these newly inducted officers would serve as vital conduits, offering much-needed technical support, hands-on guidance, and crucial capacity enhancement to rural local self-governments throughout the state. Their efforts are expected to directly impact the efficacy and reach of development initiatives at the village level.
Accompanying Minister Tasing at the event were esteemed dignitaries, including Dr. Sonal Swarrop, IAS, Secretary, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj; Shri Habung Lampung, Director, SIRD≺ and Shri Tajing Jonnom, Director, Panchayati Raj. The collective presence of these leaders underscored the government’s unified vision for empowered PRIs. They actively engaged with the participating trainees, reiterating the paramount importance of fostering robust, people-centric planning and efficient service delivery mechanisms right at the grassroots level.
“This training will empower you to become effective change-makers in rural transformation. The government is fully committed to empowering PRIs to deliver inclusive and sustainable development,” Minister Tasing affirmed, extending his heartfelt best wishes to all the trainees embarking on this crucial journey. The programme signifies the state’s proactive approach to ensuring that the benefits of governance reach every last mile.
