Jacqueline Fernandez Honoured at Italian Global Series Festival 2025

Rimini, Italy: Bollywood luminary Jacqueline Fernandez recently graced the prestigious Italian Global Series Festival (IGSF) in Rimini, Italy, where her significant contributions to cinema were lauded. The ‘Housefull 5’ actor received a special honour during the festival’s grand opening night, an event celebrated for recognising excellence in international film and television.

Taking to Instagram, Fernandez shared her profound gratitude, penning, “Cinema as an art for me is not just about storytelling but a way to connect people across time, language, and continents. The Italian Global Series Festival, known for its global recognition of talent, saw Fernandez among a distinguished group of honourees this year. On the professional front, Jacqueline Fernandez was last seen in ‘Housefull 5’, a comedy helmed by Tarun Mansukhani, which hit screens on June 6, 2025. The film featured a stellar ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, and Riteish Deshmukh.

Beyond the big screen, Fernandez also recently featured in the web series ‘Hai Junoon! Dream. Dare. Dominate’, directed by Abhishek Sharma, alongside Neil Nitin Mukesh and Boman Irani. These diverse projects underscore her remarkable range and widespread appeal across both cinematic and digital platforms.

Hailing from Sri Lanka and raised in Bahrain, Fernandez initially pursued mass communication at the University of Sydney before commencing her career as a TV reporter in Sri Lanka. Her foray into modelling saw her crowned Miss Universe Sri Lanka in 2006, representing her nation on the global stage. Her eclectic background and unwavering dedication have been pivotal in carving her niche in the competitive entertainment industry.
