Manipur Man Alleges Genitals Removed Without Consent During Routine Biopsy in Silchar Hospital

Silchar, Assam — A shocking case of alleged medical negligence has emerged from Silchar, where a 28-year-old man from Manipur has accused doctors at RE Hospital of surgically removing his genitals without his consent during what was supposed to be a routine biopsy procedure.

The patient, who had been suffering from a genital infection, approached the hospital for diagnosis and treatment. According to the complaint, he was advised by Dr Eden Sinha to undergo a biopsy to identify the nature of the infection. However, the aftermath of the procedure took a disturbing turn.

To his horror, the patient discovered that his genitals had been surgically removed—a decision he claims was made without any informed consent, prior discussion, or explanation from the doctor or the hospital.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed at the Gungoor police outpost, naming Dr Sinha as the primary accused. The patient alleges that the doctor and hospital staff violated his bodily autonomy and medical rights, and that the procedure has left him physically and emotionally devastated.

Calling it a clear case of gross medical misconduct, the victim is demanding immediate action from the authorities and has publicly appealed to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for a thorough investigation and accountability.

Police have confirmed that an FIR has been registered, and preliminary inquiries have begun. Medical experts and rights activists are also calling for a transparent review of the case, raising concerns about hospital protocol, consent practices, and ethical standards in surgical procedures.

The incident has triggered widespread outrage on social media, with users demanding justice and stronger safeguards in the medical system to prevent such alleged violations in the future.
