Assam Eyes Higher Education Horizon with NEP Push
Guwahati – Assam is setting its sights on becoming a formidable hub for higher education, with Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya emphasising the critical need for targeted initiatives to achieve this ambitious goal. The Governor lauded the proactive steps taken by the state’s Education Department in bolstering the academic ecosystem and its diligent implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Governor Acharya’s insights came after a productive meeting on Thursday with State Education Minister Ranoj Pegu, who provided a comprehensive overview of the department’s ongoing projects, policy frameworks, and its strategic vision for the future. Officials present at the meeting highlighted the government’s unwavering commitment to ushering in a new era of academic transformation, one firmly anchored in principles of quality, inclusivity, and global competitiveness. The Governor articulated his belief that with the right strategic thrust, Assam possessed the inherent potential to evolve into a leading centre for higher learning.
