New Wave of Talent Swells Sikkim BJP Ranks

Gangtok: In a significant development for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Sikkim, ten prominent figures from diverse social and political spheres officially embraced the saffron party today. The joining ceremony, held in Gangtok, was presided over by BJP Sikkim State President DR Thapa, who extended a warm welcome to the new entrants.

Among those who pledged their allegiance to the BJP were Bikram Gurung from the Yoksum Tashiding Constituency. The West Pendam Constituency saw a notable influx of new members, including Deepa Rai, Momathi Subba, Navika Subba, Goma Subba, Yona Rai, Ruben Rai, Ganju Subba, Sandeep Subba, and Mothi Rai.

Addressing the gathering, DR Thapa highlighted that the new members were profoundly influenced by the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the commendable work undertaken by the BJP in Sikkim in recent times. “The BJP is more than just a political entity; it embodies a movement dedicated to progress, development, and serving the populace. We embrace all who resonate with this ethos,” stated Thapa, underlining the party’s commitment.

The event facilitated a cordial exchange between the new members and established party functionaries. DR Thapa meticulously acquainted the new joinees with the party’s organisational framework, its flagship programmes, and its overarching mission for Sikkim. He exhorted the fresh faces to collaborate closely with seasoned party leaders, remain firmly grounded in public service, and actively contribute to the party’s expansion at the grassroots level.

“This juncture demands robust leadership and principled public service in Sikkim. We are confident that these new members will effectively convey our message to the populace and actively participate in the development of their respective constituencies,” Thapa reiterated, emphasising their anticipated contribution. Many of the newly inducted members bring with them a rich background in social work and public life, with some having been deeply involved in local issues and fostering strong community ties over several years.
