Assam Chief Secretary Reviews Development in Barak Valley

Guwahati: Assam Chief Secretary Ravi Kota, accompanied by his wife, made an official visit to Sribhumi on Friday evening, where they received a warm welcome from local officials and dignitaries.

Immediately upon arrival, Mr. Kota chaired an emergency review meeting at the District Commissioner’s conference hall. The detailed discussions with departmental heads focused on the critical issues of connectivity in the Barak Valley, the state of road infrastructure within Sribhumi district, and the ongoing progress of various developmental projects across all departments.

Following the extensive meeting, Chief Secretary Kota continued his on-ground assessments with visits to Hailakandi and Silchar.

Addressing media personnel, the Chief Secretary stated that he had undertaken a comprehensive stock-taking of the government’s infrastructure and connectivity initiatives throughout the region. He underscored the paramount importance of real-time monitoring for the effective execution of government schemes and development programmes. “The purpose of my visit is to evaluate how effectively various schemes are being implemented,” he clarified, reiterating the government’s steadfast commitment to transparency and performance-based governance.
