India Vows Firm Stand Against Terror at ASEAN Forum, Calls Out Pakistan
Kuala Lumpur: India today reaffirmed its unwavering dedication to regional peace and security at the 32nd ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial Meeting. Minister of State for External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita, emphatically articulated New Delhi’s resolute position against terrorism, underscoring its strategic alignment with the Act East Policy and the broader Indo-Pacific vision.
Representing the nation at this significant diplomatic gathering, Minister Margherita stressed the imperative for a coordinated global response to the escalating geopolitical challenges. He particularly highlighted the burgeoning concerns surrounding terrorism and reiterated India’s uncompromising zero-tolerance policy on the matter.
In a strongly worded address, the Minister condemned countries that continue to offer sanctuary to terrorists or facilitate cross-border terror activities. “Those who provide safe havens to terrorists must be isolated and held accountable,” he asserted, urging the international community to abandon any semblance of double standards when confronting terrorism.
Minister Margherita directly referenced the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, explicitly linking the incident to Pakistan. He dismissed Islamabad’s demand for a neutral investigation as disingenuous, stating, “Such calls are nothing but a charade, given Pakistan’s lack of intent to dismantle its terror infrastructure.”
