Mizoram CM Lalduhoma Honoured with Doctorate for Public Service

Aizawl: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma has been bestowed with an honorary doctorate by Tamil Nadu’s esteemed Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, a recognition of his exemplary public service and visionary leadership. The felicitation took place on July 12 during the institute’s 31st Convocation in Coimbatore, where CM Lalduhoma graced the event as the chief guest.

The prestigious Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa) was conferred upon the Chief Minister for his remarkable contributions to society, a testament to his dedication and foresight. Accepting the honour, Lalduhoma remarked, “As a chief minister of the first fully literate state in India, I accept this honour on behalf of the people I serve and as a tribute to the spirit of progress that education brings to every corner of our nation.” He further lauded Karunya as a beacon of faith-driven education and technological advancement, inspiring the graduating cohort to embrace purpose and become catalysts for positive change.

The ruling Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) party extended its hearty congratulations to Lalduhoma for this distinguished achievement. The party highlighted his outstanding societal contributions, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to re-establishing peace in Mizoram, a state that once grappled with a two-decade-long insurgency led by the erstwhile underground Mizo National Front.
