Assam: Unidentified Body Found in Rangia
RANGIA: The serene morning calm was shattered in Udianguri on Monday after an unidentified and severely mutilated body was discovered on the roadside near Bhatkuchi along National Highway 27. The shocking find, made by local residents, prompted an immediate police response.
The victim’s body showed horrific injuries, with both legs completely severed. Local villagers, who were the first to come across the gruesome scene, promptly informed the authorities. The Rangia police’s traffic unit was dispatched to the location to retrieve the body and begin a preliminary investigation.
According to police officials, the injuries strongly suggest the individual was a victim of a fatal hit-and-run accident in the early hours of the morning. It appears the body may have been lying at the spot for several hours before being spotted.
Currently, the deceased remains unidentified, and police are working diligently to establish the person’s identity and reconstruct the tragic events that led to their untimely death. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the area, with locals expressing shock and sorrow over the horrific nature of the discovery.
