BSF Opens Door for Meghalaya’s Tribal Youth with 300 Constable Posts

SHILLONG: The Border Security Force (BSF) has announced a significant recruitment drive, exclusively for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates from Meghalaya, to fill 300 Constable (General Duty) vacancies. This initiative is being seen as a concerted effort by the BSF to empower the state’s tribal youth and encourage their participation in the nation’s border guarding force.

The detailed advertisement, issued on August 18, 2025, outlines the specific distribution of posts. A total of 191 positions are designated for male candidates, while 34 are reserved for female applicants. In a targeted move to benefit those in vulnerable regions, an additional 64 posts are set aside for male candidates from border districts, and 11 for female candidates hailing from these areas. The BSF has emphasised that this is part of its ongoing commitment to strengthen local involvement in securing India’s frontiers.
