AR-Customs Crackdown Nabs Four, Seizes Rs 2 Crore Meth Haul

Agartala: In a swift and coordinated action, the Assam Rifles, working in tandem with the Customs department, executed a successful joint operation on August 21, resulting in a significant narcotics bust.

The operation, which underscores the unwavering commitment of security forces to counter illicit trade, led to the recovery of a large cache of Methamphetamine tablets. Acting on specific intelligence, the joint team set up a strategic checkpoint and intercepted a Maruti Suzuki Wagonr bearing registration number TR 04 F0698. A meticulous search of the vehicle uncovered two large packets containing a total of 20,000 Methamphetamine tablets.

The seized contraband weighed a substantial two kilograms and is estimated to be worth a staggering two crore rupees in the international black market. The driver of the vehicle along with three other individuals travelling in the car were immediately apprehended. The apprehended quartet and the seized narcotics have since been handed over to the Customs department for a comprehensive investigation and to initiate legal proceedings.

The Assam Rifles reiterated its resolve to continue its close synergy with various law enforcement agencies to combat illegal activities and uphold peace and security across the region.
