Assam Rifles, Coaching Institute Team Up to Nurture Aspirants in Manipur

Hengbung, Manipur: In a proactive move to empower the youth of the region, the 16 Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Gunchu Coaching Institute, recently organised a two-day pre-medical examination for aspiring candidates of the SSC-GD and Agniveer recruitments.

The initiative, held from August 20 to 21 at the Hengbung Assam Rifles Camp, saw 80 aspirants participating in an exercise designed to equip them for the rigorous selection process. The pre-medical camp focused on two of the most crucial phases of the recruitment cycle: the Physical Efficiency Test/Physical Standard Test (PET/PST) and the Medical Examination, stages that often prove to be decisive for many candidates.

Officials from the Assam Rifles highlighted that the initiative went beyond a mere check-up; it was a comprehensive capacity-building effort. “This proactive step ensures that no deserving youth loses the opportunity to serve the nation simply because of undetected medical issues. It helps channel their dedication in the right direction and maximises their chances of success,” an official stated. The collaboration is aimed at providing aspirants with a structured pathway to navigate the challenges of the recruitment process. Minthang Haokip, the proprietor of Gunchu Coaching Institute, underscored the importance of the camp’s preventive role. He noted that many determined candidates are often disqualified due to undiagnosed conditions like vision problems, postural defects, or minor hearing issues. By identifying these concerns early, the initiative allows aspirants to seek timely medical intervention and corrective measures, enabling them to approach the selection process with enhanced readiness and confidence.

The joint effort between the Assam Rifles and the Gunchu Coaching Institute is being lauded as a significant step towards creating a supportive ecosystem for the region’s youth, offering them a lifeline in their pursuit of a career in national service.
