The operation, a testament to the police’s proactive stance, was carried out under the watchful eyes of senior police officials, including SP Itanagar Jummar Basar.

The authorities ensured full legal compliance by having Special Judicial Magistrate (Narcotics) Oli Koyu and an independent witness present during the search, a crucial step to uphold procedural integrity.

During the search, police seized over 10 vials of heroin, weighing 2.5 gms net, along with four empty vials, cash, multiple suspected mobile phones, and the Grand Vitara. The press ID card was also seized from Tara’s possession, adding another layer to the case that has already sent shockwaves through the community.

A case has been officially registered at the Chimpu Police Station under the stringent sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The police have stated that investigations are currently on to unearth the larger nexus and dismantle the entire supply chain associated with the accused.

The Itanagar Capital Police have reaffirmed their commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against drug peddling and vowed to continue their relentless crackdown on all those involved in this illicit trade.
