Manipur Police Nab Woman with ₹10 Lakh Drugs, Bust Vehicle Lifters in Separate Raids
IMPHAL: In a twin crackdown on crime, Manipur Police have scored significant victories against both narcotics trafficking and vehicle theft. The operations, which unfolded in separate districts on August 26, highlight the security forces’ unwavering resolve to curb criminal activities across the state.
Acting on a tip-off, a vigilant team of Churachandpur Police carried out a search operation at the residence of 49-year-old Manneihoi Baite in S. Munnuam. Their diligence paid off handsomely as they seized a staggering 1,200 tablets of WY, a potent psychotropic substance, valued at an estimated ₹10 lakh in the illicit market. Baite was promptly arrested and is now facing the law for her alleged involvement in drug peddling. This bust marks a crucial step in the ongoing battle to dismantle drug networks plaguing the region.
Meanwhile, in a separate but equally effective operation, Thoubal Police zeroed in on a racket of motor vehicle thieves. Based on concrete intelligence, security forces raided the homes of two suspects, Md. Ashiqur Rahaman, 25, and Md. Yumkhaibam Moshil Khan, 23, both residents of Lilong Haoreibi Awang Leikai. The raid led to the successful recovery of a stolen Alto car and a mobile phone, providing crucial evidence against the duo. Both Rahaman and Khan have been taken into custody, with investigations underway to unearth the full extent of their criminal enterprise. The twin successes serve as a powerful message to criminals that the long arm of the law will not rest until they are brought to justice.
