17 Fisherman dead after boat sinks in Barents Sea
Around 17 fishermen have went missing and feared dead after a Russian boat upend during a storm and sank into the freezing waters of Barents Sea. However 2 people had been rescued during the rescue operation. Investigative Committee said “During the sinking, temperatures were as low as 30 degrees (Celsius) below zero,” the source was quoted as saying. It’s practically impossible to hold out even with wet suits on.”
The disaster occurred during a strong storm when the crew was hauling out a net and the boat sank so fast that crew did not have time to activate their life rafts.
