BPF likely to withdraw alliance with BJP in upcoming Assam Assembly Polls
The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has decided to rebel against Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) forces in the upcoming state assembly elections, although it is unclear weather the BPF will come into alliance with any other party. The BPF general secretary Prabin Boro said, the party had tons of informal meetings on possible political terms and understandings for the elections with opposition parties like, Congress, Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP), Raijor Dol, All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) and Left Parties. Boro also mentioned that the party will extend their support to different constituencies depending on the winning prospects of the parties.
Boro said that the BJP betrayed the BPF in the recent Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) elections despite having an alliance with the party. Although the relation between the BJP and BPF is collapsing, the three BPF members in the State Council of Ministers have not resigned yet.
