Rupjyoti Kurmi was an Asset for Congress: Ripun Bora
Guwahati: After Rupjyoti Kurmi, four time legislator from Mariani decided to move to the BJP, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee’s president, Ripun Bora stated that it is unfortunate for the Congress as Kurmi was an asset for the party.
Ripun Bora reacting to the entire scenario said, “It is very unfortunate that Rupjyoti has decided to join the BJP. He was was an asset for the party”
Bora added, “Not only Rupjyoti, every member or worker of the Congress is an asset to the party and we do not want even one of these members and workers to leave the party.”
Bora claimed that Kurmi was one of the most active and outspoken members who had always been vocal against the BJP. He claimed Kurmi’s decision to be a shock to the party.
He also added, “However, this is not the first time that the Congress has seen such a situation. This has happened several times in the past and even after such rebellions, we have rose back right with more power.”
He claimed that the decision by Kurmi to join the BJP might be because that the Congress had lost the Assembly elections.
