Wrestler Phogat suspended by WFI
Guwahati: Wrestler Vinesh Phogat has been temporality suspended by the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) on Tuesday on charges of indiscipline during her Tokyo Olympics Campaign.
According to a report, the allegations on her were that she had refused to share rooms with her fellows and demanded a special room for her. She also denied training with the other wrestlers of India and chooses to train with her personal coach.
Vinesh even chose to wear her personal sponsor’s name instead of wearing the name of the official sponsors of the Indian contingent during her match at the Tokyo Olympics.
Following these misconducts, WFI sent a notice to the wrestler and asked to reply to the notice by August 16.
A report claimed that till the matter gets resolved Vanisha can’t take part in any national or domestic event.
Meanwhile, it has also been reported that the young wrestler Sonam Malik who had debuted in Tokyo Olympic this year has been given notice by WFI over her misconduct at the airport while leaving for Tokyo Olympic.
However, both the wrestlers were failed to win any medal for the country.
