Assam’s Pride Lovlina reaches Guwahati
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma along with Sports Minister Bimal Bora welcomed the Olympics medalist Lovlina Borgohain at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBI) on Thursday.
The pride of Assam Lovlina finally reached her home state on August 12 after creating history at the Tokyo Olympic 2020 by winning a bronze medal for the country and received a grand welcome from the Assam government.
CM took the Twitter and wrote, “With pride and glory, I welcomed our star Olympian medalist@LovlinaBorgohain at Guwahati airport.”
He added that Lovlina has ignited a billion dreams with her achievement at Tokyo Olympic 2020 and sets an example for budding sports talents in rural areas to aspire for achieving big on the world stage.
A felicitation program has also been organized by the state government at 3 PM at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalashetra.
Along with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Bimal Bora, several dignities will also join the program to felicitate the athletic.
