Assam | 6 thousand unemployed youths to get funds for commercial vehicles
Guwahati: A meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma decided that at least six thousand youth in the state will be given financial assistance for purchasing commercial vehicles so that they can earn a livelihood.
Addressing the media, Water Resource Minister Pijush Hazarika stated that the government has decided to grant a subsidy of Rs 1 Lakh to the youths of Assam who don’t have any source of income so that they can become self-reliant.
He added that free driving training will also be arranged for the youths and the period of the training will be of 45 days. As soon as they complete the training the government will provide them with driving licenses.
The minister further informed that 50 unemployed youths will be selected by the government from each assembly constituency for the scheme.
