Assam-Mizoram Border Row: Ajmal meets Amit Shah

Guwahati: All India United Democratic Front Chief Badruddin Ajmal met Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss the Assam-Mizoram border dispute.

Ajmal in a statement said that he had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah along with Sonai MLA Karim Uddin Barbhuiya regarding the Assam-Mizoram border issue and also submitted a letter mentioning all historical background of the border issue between both the states from the British era and how there has been a clearly demarcated boundary line till the Mizo people with active support from the Mizoram administration invaded the area of Assam.

He further added that they had demanded early intervention of the Union Home Ministry so that peace and tranquility can be maintained by both the states at the border.
Earlier, on Monday Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the Assam-Mizoram border issue.
