“Mission Basundhara” to be launched for streamlining Assam’s revenue administration: CM

Dispur: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma held a meeting with the officials of the Revenue & Disaster Management Department to discuss various issues for streamlining the revenue administration of the State.
Issues like a survey of non-cadastral villages, drafting service rule and inter-district transfer of lot mandals, simplification of partition of ejmali Patta and hereditary transfer of land, etc. were discussed during the meeting.

Advocating for total reforms of the State’s revenue administration, the Chief Minister asked the department to complete all pending partition and mutation cases in a mission mode by opening a portal, organizing Rajah Adalat, etc. within the next few months. For that, a mission namely “Mission Basundhara” would be launched on 2nd October 2021, the Chief Minister said. Sarma further stressed solving all such pending matters within 10th May 2022, which will mark the first anniversary of the present government.

Chief Minister Sarma also asked the department to expedite the process of cadastral survey of all remaining non-cadastral villages and to detail survey of lands in 27 districts of Assam excluding the sixth schedule areas. He directed the department to achieve the goal of completely digitizing the land records of the state within 2023.

Issues of inter-district transfer of lot mandals were also discussed in the meeting. The Chief Minister directed the Revenue Department to draft a new Service Rule of the lot mandals for hassle-free execution of transfer and postings within a stipulated time.
