Guwahati: Four suspected drug traffickers were apprehended by a team of the Guwahati Police on Friday night with suspected heroin and two air rifles from Pub-Sarania in Guwahati.
Police sources said that the arrested persons were apprehended based on intelligence input. The apprehended persons were identified as Jony Ali, Altav Uddin Laskar, Ashok Chetry and Rahul Das.
The team recovered 2.79 grams of suspected heroin contained in 28 plastic vials, two air-rifles along with seven mobile phones from the accused persons. No cash or fire-arms were seized from the accused.
The police informed that the material recovered from the accused were seized and a case under section 21(a)/29 of the NDPS Act was registered against them at the Chandmari Police Station.
