Firecrackers banned in Assam
Guwahati: Ahead of the Diwali festival in Assam, the state Pollution Control Board (PCB) has ordered a complete ban on the bursting and sale of firecrackers in the state.
The officials said that only green crackers will be allowed in order to combat air pollution.
According to reports the decision has been taken in view of high pollution in the city with the air quality being in the “poor” category.
It may be mentioned that only green crackers have been allowed for two hours on Diwali.
