CD PROJEKT Group welcomes The Molasses Flood video game development studio
The Molasses Flood, a developer, has been acquired by CD PROJEKT. The Molasses Flood is recognised for survival and base-building games The Flame in the Flood and Drake Hollow, which were founded in Boston in 2014 by Bioshock, Halo, and Guitar Hero & Rock Band veterans.
“We’re constantly on the hunt for teams that put heart into their games.” The Molasses Flood shares our enthusiasm for video game production, and they’re skilled, detail-oriented, and technologically savvy. “I am certain that they will bring a great deal of skill and commitment to CD PROJEKT,” says Adam Kiciski, president and joint CEO of CD PROJEKT.
“It has been our ambition since the beginning of The Molasses Flood to make games that touch and inspire people.” We recognised an extraordinary chance to reach a far bigger audience through a cooperation with a firm we love, developing games in settings we love, when CD PROJEKT approached us about the idea of working together. The Molasses Flood studio leader Forrest Dowling states, “We couldn’t be more delighted to continue our objective with the assistance of CD PROJEKT and their very talented crew.”
The Molasses Flood will collaborate closely with CD PROJEKT RED, but they will maintain their separate identities and will not be combined with existing teams. The studio will be working on a large-scale project based on one of CD PROJEKT’s intellectual property. Details about the project will be released at a later date.
