Fire breaks out: 4 infants killed in Bhopal
Guwahati: At least four children have died after a massive fire broke out at a hospital in the Bhopal district of Madhya Pradesh.
The incident took place on Monday night in the special newborn care unit (SNCU) of Kamla Nehru Children’s Hospital of the district.
According to reports, the blaze started on the third floor of the hospital, which houses the ICU department.
At least 40 children were admitted to SNCU among which 36 children were undergoing treatment in different wards.
Meanwhile, Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang said a short circuit may be caused the fire.
Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has ordered a high-level inquiry into the incident.
It may be mentioned that the government further announced an ex gratia Of Rs 4 lakhs each to the kin of the deceased in the fire incident.
