Guwahati: A 23-year-old boy in Assam’s Jorhat district was allegedly murdered by his own father and stepmother because he had asked for money to celebrate Diwali.
The incident took place on October 31 but was reported on Monday after the police had found the dead body of the boy identified as Kakumoni Bora who was a resident of Teok in Jorhat. The deceased after being killed was hidden in a toilet of their house.
The police based on certain inputs had initiated an investigation about the boy who was reported to be missing and on running the investigation, the police tracked down the body of the youth in a toiled. On further investigation, it was found that his father and his stepmother had killed him over the Diwali expense issue.
The police immediately after finding evidence of the parents, arrested them. They were identified as Pahnidhar Bora and Horumoni Dutta. Both of them had allegedly committed the crime jointly where the father had beaten him with a bamboo baton while his stepmother had helped in hiding the dead body.
