PLGA anniversary: Security beefed up in Telangana

Guwahati: The outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoists) is commemorating the 21st anniversary of their People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army with increased combing operations in Telangana (PLGA).

The state police have stepped up security around the Telangana-Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra borders in preparation for the PLGA anniversary, which is set to take place between December 2 and December 10.

Greyhounds (Anti-Naxal Force), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and state police units are conducting searches in regions where officials fear Maoists are present, according to senior police officials.

Bhadradri Kothagudem district Superintendent of Police (SP) Sunil Dutt told TNM that increased combing and area dominance operations are underway in the district, which is bordered by Chattisgarh’s Sukuma district
