Two IEDs recovered in Meghalaya
Guwahati: Meghalaya Police recovered two suspected IEDs during a counter-insurgency operation in West Garo Hills district.
According to reports, the recovered IEDs were in a green bag under a hume pipe culvert.
One IED was stored in a pressure cooker, while the other in a tin paint box. The total weight is around 10 kg.
Both IEDs were detonated and destroyed on the spot.
Legal action has been taken by the police and an investigation into the matter is on.
In a CI Ops conducted in Rechangre village today, two IEDs were recovered.

Earlier in another incident during a counter-insurgency operation at Du’magitok hamlet, 15 kilometres from Tura in the West Garo Hills, Meghalaya police found one live grenade and six live 7.62mm ammunition on Monday.
In the view of public safety, the grenade was destroyed on the scene and an investigation is initiated by the officials.
In a Counter-Insurgency Operation conducted today, West Garo Hills Police recovered one live grenade and 6 nos. live 7.62mm ammunition from Du'magitok village located approx. 15 kms from Tura.
