Guwahati: The suspected ‘main conspirator and creator of Bulli Bai app on GitHub and also main Twitter account holder of Bulli Bai arrested by Delhi Police in arrested in Assam’s Jorhat district.
The arrestee was identified as Neeraj Bishnoi, a 21-year-old boy. Neeraj is a B. Tech (Computer Science) 2nd-year student and is a resident of Digambar Chowk, Jorhat.
Bulli Bai is a website-based app where photos of many Muslim women were placed for ‘auction,’ causing an uproar. This is similar to the ‘Sulli Deals,’ app which occurred in July of last year. The IFSO (Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations) team of the Delhi Police’s Special Cell apprehended Neeraj Bishnoi.
This is the fourth arrest in the case, with Mumbai Police, had made the previous three. Separate cases had been filed by the Delhi and Mumbai police departments.
Three young people had already been arrested among which there are a Bihar- engineering student in Bengaluru, an 18-year-old student from Uttarakhand, and a Delhi University student from Uttarakhand.
