Banned outfit PREPAK-Pro claims responsibility for the IED blast in Thoubal district
Guwahati: The banned outfit of Manipur named People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Progressive) (PREPAK-Pro), claimed responsibility for the IED bombing in Thoubal district that killed one Assam Rifles personnel and injured another on Wednesday, a day before Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to the poll-bound state.
The incident took place around 1:30 pm in the Usoipokpi Sangomsang area of the district in which one Assam Rifles jawan identified as Rifleman L Wangshu was killed, a resident of Arunachal Pradesh and the injured jawan have been identified as Rifleman Pingku Das of Tripura.
According to reports, the assistant publicity secretary of the insurgency group, Eshingchaoba in a press release stated that the IED blast was the tactical action of the Cobra Task Force-3 of PREPAK(Pro).
PREPAK(Pro) claimed that there was a brief period of emotional reluctance due to the potentially disastrous consequence of the blast.
However, they also felt the family’s anguish and agony as they saw the lifeless bodies and injured IOF members.
Such foreseeable negative outcomes in the past drove us to limit our capabilities, PREPAK (Pro) added.
Meanwhile, the banned outfit further added that they have the resources to carry out Usoipokpi similar actions on a regular basis.
It may be mentioned that they despise such carnage, but it will continue indefinitely as long as the Israeli Occupying Forces (IOF) troops are stationed in Kangleipak (Manipur).
