Guwahati: A Rural Health Inspector (RHI) has been arrested for allegedly taking bribes by a team of the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption on Tuesday.
The accused has been identified as Hitesh Deka.
According to reports, Hitesh was is a health inspector at Rani Community Health Centre in Kamrup’s Rani and he was arrested while taking a bribe for issuing a death certificate.
Assam’s special DGP, GP Singh sharing the news on Twitter wrote, “Hitesh Deka Rural Health Inspector, Rani community Health Centre, Rani, Kamrup was Caught red-handed today by Team @DIR_VAC_ASSAMwhile accepting bribe money for issuing death certificate. @assampolice@CMOfficeAssam@mygovassam.”
