Guwahati: In view of the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in Assam and the spread of the new Covid variant Omicron the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (M) District Pallav G. Jha has issued a new set of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on Wednesday for Educational Institutions throughout the district.
The new SOP issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (M) District are-
- All schools – both Private and Public – up to Class VIII will remain closed till 30th January;
- Physical Classes shall be allowed on alternate days for IX-XII in Kamrup (M) district;
- Degree and Post-Graduation Classes are allowed to function full-physical classes only for fully vaccinated students in Kamrup (M) district.
After the Government of Assam earlier issued this SOP, it has been re-ordered.
However, several institutions across Assam have broken the rules by not holding alternate classes for Classes IX-XII.
The order further reads, “any violations of the order will attract action.”, there has been no action taken by the District Administration as of now.
