Guwahati: Five terrorists belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfits, including a self-styled commander, were killed in two separate overnight encounters with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir.
The first encounter took place in the Chrar-i-Sharief area of the central Kashmir’s Budgam district while the second encounter took place in the Naira area of Pulwama in South Kashmir.
According to reports, four terrorists killed in Pulwama gunfight belonged to JeM while in the encounter at Chrar-i-Sharief, one terrorist affiliated with LeT outfit was killed.
However, Arms and ammunition were recovered from the Pulwana site of the encounter and incriminating material including an AK 56 rifle was also recovered from the encounter site of Chrar-i-Sharief area.
Sharing the news on Twitter, The Kashmir Zone Police wrote, “5 terrorists of Pakistan sponsored proscribed terror outfits LeT and JeM killed in dual encounters in last 12 hours. JeM commander terrorist Zahid Wani and a Pakistani terrorist among the killed. Big success for us.”
