Guwahati: A man has been arrested for allegedly snatching a bag containing cash of Rs 5000 and many important documents from a woman in Goalpara district of Assam on Friday.
The accused has been identified as Sahabuddin Ahmed who is working as a Rapido/ Uber bike driver. He is a resident of Bhalukdubi, Baladmari village of the district.
The incident took place on 16 February at Fancy Bazaar locality of Guwahati.
As per the FIR, he managed to flee from the scene of the crime and avoid police arrest by returning to his native residence but the police were able to apprehend the accused from his residence last night.
Ahmed was booked under case no 62/22 U/s under the 382 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
